"I don't know do you want to go?"  Nick said in a comforting voice and put his hand on Jessie's shoulder.

"I'm not sure I mean I want to stay here because my mom, you, Katie....:" Jessie grins and pauses for a little bit just thinking about Katie "but my dad I will miss him more than anything."

"Have you told Katie that your dad got a job offer in Australia?"

"Not exactly..." Jessie says looking at NIck like a lost puppy.

"Jess you should really tell her then she could help you decide."

"She'll want me to stay here I don't even have to ask her and I mean I want to stay here but I don't....UGH!! Help me!" Jessie said as she started to get tears in her eyes.

"I can't make the decision for you and I know that means nothing but you don't have to decide whether you want to go for another week right?"

"Yeah..."

"Well you should take your mind off of it for a little while and come to a party with me."

"Will Katie be there?"

"Come on, me go to a party that Katie's not at......HAA!" Nick said as he smiled.

"I wonder why Katie didn't say anything about a party"

"She probably forgot it's not one of those MAJOR parties you know?"

"Probably, well when does the party start?"

"It already started will it be ok if you go?"

"Hold on let me run in and ask."

"Dad.." Jessie said

"Hey honey" her dad said as Jessie came up and gave him a hug.

"Dad can I go to a party with Nick?"

"I don't see why not be home by midnight."

"Ok, thanks dad, I love you." she said as she walked out the door

"Can you go?"

"Yep!"

"Ok lets go!"

They got in Nick's car and started to drive down the road.  Nick pulled out his cell phone and dialed a number. Jessie wasn't paying attention, she was still trying to figure out what she was going to do about Australia when Nick broke her train of thought and handed her the phone.

"Nick, who is it?"

"I don't know say "hi" and find out."

"Hello?"

"Hey beautiful" Katie said all happy Jessie got a huge grin on her face as soon as Katie said hey.

"Hold on one second." Jessie looked at Nick and hit him hard on the arm

"Hey what was that for?"

"For not telling me it was Katie"

Jessie got back on the phone. "Hit him for me too" Katie said laughing. Jessie hit Nick again. "Ok I get what the first one was for but what was that one for?" Nick asked "For Katie"

Nick just smiled and let Jessie talk to Katie again "So you're going to the party?"

"Yeah, why didn't you say anything about it?"

"I kinda forgot about it then Nick called and said that he was coming to pick me up then I remembered that there was a party and I said that I had to call you and ask if you wanted to go but then he said that you were in the car so I didn't have to call" Katie said babbling because she was all excited.

"So I'll see you in a little bit then?"

"Yep in a little bit!"

"Ok bye Katie"

"Bye hun!"

Nick pulled into the driveway, and Jessie was in her own little world again. Nick lightly tapped her on the shoulder and she swung around and hit him in the face.

"Oh God. I'm so sorry Nick. Are you okay?" Jessie asked concerned

Nick was holding his nose "Yeah, I'll be fine. Don't worry about it."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. Just go get Katie okay?"

"Alright" Jessie said and got out of the car.

"So where is this almighty party your takin us to Nick?" Katie asked holding Jessie's hand

"Oh, It's at Tony's house. You know the captain of the basketball team. It's not that big though. He only invited a few people. Tad will probably be there too."

"Great...just what we need" Katie said sarcastically and rolling her eyes

Jessie squeezed her girlfriend's hand. "Don't worry, if he bothers us, I'll just hit him in the nose like I did with Nick." Jessie said smiling at Nick

"Yeah, you don't want to mess with her." Nick said

"Believe me I know" Katie replied

"Hey!" Jessie said smacking her on the arm

"What was that for?"

"Taking Nick's side, and not sticking up for me"

"What? I was just saying the truth. When your mad, you are MAD"

"So, it doesn't me you have to actually....Oh never mind. You win, but next time I'll hit harder." Jessie said glaring at her girlfriend

"See, Nick. You just have to play it like I do. I always win. And don't smack me again, that really hurt." Katie said, Jessie just smiled sweetly at her.

After they were at the party for about half an hour Katie walked up to Nick. "Nick, this party blows, lets get out of here ok?" Nick was surrounded by a bunch of girl who were flirting with him.

"I don't know Katie. I kinda like it here." Nick said

Katie grabbed his arm and dragged him to where Jessie was. She walked into the living room, and some guy was hitting on Jessie. HER Jessie. "Hey back off of her ok?"

"Hey sweet cheeks." The guy was obviously drunk

"Don't talk to me like that. Now listen bucko, if you don't back off of her. I am going to slam my fist down your fucking throat. Got it?!" Katie shouted.

The guy stood up "Now, now. I don't want any trouble. I just wanted to get laid by this fine piece of ass." The guy said

"That's it!" Katie said and punched him really hard in the jaw

"You bitch!" The guy said and stormed out of the house

After they were told to leave by Tony, Nick dropped Katie and Jessie off at Jessie's mom's house. The whole car ride and the walk to her room was complete silence.

After about 10 minutes of staring at each other Katie finally spoke.  "Look, Jessie I'm sorry it's just...."

Jessie cut her off before she could finish her sentence. "I don't want to hear it Katie" Jessie said firmly

"But..." Katie tried again

"NO!"

"Fine! God Jessie. Ya know I was trying to stick up for you. Which you couldn't obviously have done for yourself. And you yell at me! You always do this to me ya know? And I'm getting sick of it! I'm actually starting to get sick of you and all your bitching all the time! I just can't take it anymore! I am so out of here!" Katie screamed and stormed out of the house.

Jessie was really upset that Katie said what she said and just stormed out like that. She made up her mind about going to Australia. If Katie was getting sick of her, then she would just leave and go to Australia and leave Katie behind and never look back.
