*Morning Before School*

As Jessie walked in the kitchen she saw Lily and Grace arguing about something. She couldn't help but smile.

"Mom, I told you, if you don't let me borrow the car, I'll never learn how."

"Grace you just got your license, I think you should just wait a little bit more. Ok honey?"

Grace rolled her eyes. "Fine whatever mom, Jess come on lets go, we don't want to miss the bus."

"Oh, I'm not taking the bus. Im getting a ride."

Grace smirked.  Now Lily was getting worried "With who Jessie?" Lily asked.  But before Jessie could answer Grace cut in "She's getting a ride with Katie, mom. It's no big deal." Grace said with another one of her weird expressions

"Oh that Katie Singer girl?"

"Yeah, that's her" Jessie said glaring at Grace

A car honked out side.  "Oh, there she is, gotta go, bye!" Jessie shouted as she ran off.

"So, Grace tell me about Katie. I mean is she nice or a trouble maker or what?"

"Mom...it's really none of your business. She's Jessie's friend, not mine, so ask her if you really want to know. But I have to go catch the bus." Grace said as she ran out the door too.

"Hmm, teenagers." Lily said to herself

*In The Car*

"So, Jess. You wanna do something this weekend?" Katie asked shyly.

Jessie looked at Katie surprised. "Uh, sure. Like what?"

"Oh, I don't know. We could just like hang out or go to the mall or something, ya know, the usual stuff."

Jessie was kind of shocked. I mean, she just met Katie, and she was so nice, maybe a little too nice. Oh well, she did really like this girl. So, what the hell.   "Yeah, that would be cool. I did want to go to the mall anyway."

"Cool, cool." Katie said relieved "You know, you should sit with me at lunch today, I mean if you want to"

"Sure, that would be nice." Jessie said, looking at Katie and giving her a smile.

*School*

Grace was by her locker when Katie walked up to her.  "Hey Grace."

"Oh, hey Katie. What's up?"

"I just wanted to say thanks"

Ok now Grace was confused. "Thanks for what?"

"You know..."

"No, I don't know." Grace said although she already did know what Katie was getting at.

"Well, I know you know"

"Yeah, I guess I do. So why Jessie?"

Katie started blushing "I don't know. There's just something about her ya know. And she seems so nice and caring. I could always use another friend like her. Instead of all my annoying friends."

"Oh you mean like Sarah?"

"Ugh, don't even get me started on her. I still have to break up with her."

"Your breaking up with her for Jessie?!" Grace kind of shouted out.

"You would mind keeping your voice down please."

"Yeah sorry. But why would you do that. How do you even know Jessie is interested."

"I'm not looking to go out with her. I just want her as a friend. And I can't have Sarah or anyone standing in the way to mess things up"

"Huh. Ok whatever you say Katie." Grace said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"Grace I mean it, ok?"

"Ok. I guess I understand. Kind of. Well not really but oh well."

The bell rang

"Ok well, thanks Grace, see ya later."

"Yeah bye." Grace said leaving with a huge smile on her face.

*After School*

Jessie was walking up to her attic with Katie trailing behind, when Grace stopped them. "Jess, can I talk to you real quick" Grace asked

"Fine, but make it fast".   Katie was left on the stairs just sitting there.

"So, what did you want" Jessie asked getting somewhat annoyed by all Grace's weird expressions.

"I just wanted to say that Tad called"

"Tad called? You took me all the way over here to tell me that?! Grace your so...soo..ugh. Im leaving, and don't bother us again unless it's really important," and with that Jessie stormed off.

*Attic*

"So what did Grace want?" Katie asked.

"Oh, nothing, she's just being stupid."

"Ok, well when do you want to go to the mall?"

"Like at 6, if that's ok with you"

"Yeah, it's totally fine with me."

"Cool." Jessie replied with a slight smile on her face. 

They stood there looking at each other for quite some time until Grace came in.   "Oh, sorry am I interrupting something?" Grace asked looking at Katie and smirking.

"Grace, I told you to leave us alone unless it's important" Jessie stated angrily.

"Yeah, I know. I just wanted to see what was goin on."

"Grace! Leave! Now!" Jessie shouted.

Grace was backing up holding her hands in front of her. "Ok, ok. I'm leaving now. Geesh"

"Is Grace always this weird towards your friends?" Katie asked.

"Actually, no. It's just you. I don't know why though." Jessie said with a confused look on her face. 

~*Oh God*~ Katie thought.

"Do you know why Katie?" Jessie asked suspiciously.

"No, of course not. Why would you think that." Katie answered a little too quickly.

"Hmm...ok, well, what do you wanna do until 6?"

"I don't know. What do you want to do"

"Your the guest. You can decide"

"Hmm, ok. I don't know."

"Ok, then lets just go to the mall now since there's nothing to do here" Jessie suggested.

"That's fine with me Jess"

*Mall*

They were walking around to all different stores and trying on clothes, listening to music, and just having fun. They were now in a music store. "Oh, sweet they have Billie Holiday" Katie said happily.

"Billie who? Jessie asked

"Oh my God, you don't know who Billie Holiday is? Damn. Well she's this awesome singer. I just love her. I so have to buy this. Then we can listen to it together. You will totally love her."

"Ok, that's cool"

After Katie bought the C.D. they left. They got to Katie's house at 9:15

*Katie's House*

"Hey Katie, you want to sleep over tonight. I'm my step mom won't mind" Jessie asked

"Yeah, sure that would be great. Then we can listen to Holiday. Let me just get some stuff and then we'll be on our way."

As Katie was packing up stairs, Jessie looked around. She found a whole bunch of records and C.D.s of all sorts. Ranging from Bob Dylan to Billie Holiday and even The Clash.  "Ok, let's go" Katie said, startling Jessie.  And they left to go to Jessie's house for a night of fun.
