Gay/StraightAlliance
*School*
"Hey Billie!" Katie said giggling while giving Jessie a friendly hug.
"Oh look..." Jessie
said. She was so glad Katie let her borrow her sweater.
"Wow"
"What do you think?"
"Oh my God, are you
kidding? It looks great on you." Katie replied not able to take her eyes
off of the sweater. It really did look great on her.
"I love it, its' so
cozy"
Katie smiled, "I love the
word cozy"
Katie was packing up while Mr. . Dimitri was saying something about the
Gay/Straight Alliance
"Oh, Mr.. Dimitri. I am
definitely joining." Tad said gloating.
"Shut up Tad." Katie
loved Tad, she really did, but sometimes he was just weird.
"Bisexual girls right?
Need I say more?"
"You are such an
idiot?" Katie said giggling, playfully pushing him
"You know what, you should
come with me."
"No way too boring and
stupid." There was no way she was going to something like that.
"What is?" said a
familiar voice
Katie turned hearing Jessie
"Oh hey. Oh those clubs like
the Gay/Straight Alliance. Where it's just arguing about how to raise money and
who should make the stupid posters, nothing ever really gets done ya
know?" Katie explained while she was trying to write down the rest of her
homework
"Totally. Hey do you have
change for the soda machine?"
Katie looked up from what she
was doing. "Have I ever denied you change?" She got a laugh
from Jessie. She loved making Jessie laugh. She just always loved being around
her and being with her.
*School the next day*
"Hey Jess. You're hairs all staticky."
"Yeah I know. I didn't
have time to brush it after gym"
"Here. I'll fix it for
you."
Jessie's hair was so soft, and
it felt good too. It kinda smelled like apple, with a hint of cinnamon. She was
busy admiring her hair that she didn't even realize Jessie pulling back.
"Ok, that's good"
Jess said kind of nervously "You should get going"
Katie was smiling at her and
took Jessie's hand and looked at her watch "I have...45 seconds"
"Well Im going to go. I
don't want to be late" Jessie said a little too quickly
Katie looked at her a little
confused. "Ok. Well I'll see ya later"
*Katie's House*
~God what am I going to do? I mean I basically told Jessie I want going to that
meeting. But what if she goes? What if she doesn't? She most likely will be
there. So I'll go, besides Me and Jessie could talk and goof around while
everyone else discusses what to do.~
"Yeah, I'll make an
appearance."
*Mr..
Dimitri's House*
"Hi Billie"
Jessie turned when she heard
someone saying hi to her.
"Nice color scheme"
Katie said looking around
"I thought you thought
clubs like this were stupid?"
Katie looked back up at Jessie.
"Oh I do. I just felt like seeing Dimitri's house" and with that she
went to go take off her jacket and find a seat.
She left a confused and
somewhat surprised girl there looking after her. Yesterday, right after
school Grace told Jessie that Katie was gay. But she isn't. At least she
doesn't think she is. But, she did say she wasn't coming to this meeting, and
yet here she is.
Jessie was really trying to finish her homework, but she could feel Katie
staring at her, which was really starting to bother her.
"Hey Jess, you wanna
go?" Katie asked quietly. She really wanted to get the hell out of this
place.
Jessie looked up.
"Now?"
"Yeah come on lets
go."
Jessie shook her head and got
back to what she was doing. Trying really hard to Ignore Katie.
Katie sighed. "I'm bored.
Are you bored?"
"Im really trying to
finish this" Jessie replied. She really didn't want to go. Not now, and
not with Katie.
~Finally this stupid ass
meeting is over~ Katie thought. She stood up quickly, putting on her
jacket. "Come on let's go"
"Uh, shouldn't we help
clean up?"
"I'll do it. Just tell my
mother I had to stay late ok?" Grace answered
"Ok"
"Come on, let's go"
Katie was really starting to get impatient while Jessie was ignoring her
Tad strode up "Uh, do you
need a ride?"
"Um. I don't know,
I..."
Katie looked at Jessie and Tad.
"Yeah, she does"
"Katie.." The last
thing Jessie wanted to do was hurt Katie
"Have fun" And with
that Katie left
*Katie's Room*
~What is going on with Jess. I mean she's been all nervous and jumpy all day. Did
I do something wrong or what? Yesterday she was totally fine, and today she's
just..just..well I don't know, but it sure is bothering me for some reason. I
don't want Jessie to be mad at me. I love her~
"Whoa...did I just
seriously think that?"
~I guess I do love her. She is
so nice and funny and cute. I love the way she laughs at anything I say. And I
love the way she smiles and sings. She has a dreamy voice. I could just listen
to her sing Billie Holiday all day long.~
"Wow, I do love her"
*School Hallway*
"Jess," Katie said trying to catch up with Jessie. "What's goin
on" she continued.
Jessie continued walking not
even looking at Katie "What do you mean"
"Didn't you see me waving
to you before? On the steps, I was like..waving..to you"
"No, I didn't see
you"
How could she have not seen
her? "Oh, well you wanna come over later?"
Jessie stopped and turned to
Katie "I can't. Im visiting my mom at the hospital."
"Oh, well I could come
with you"
"It's not really fun for
you though"
Ok something was seriously
going on here. "Look...are you mad at me" Katie finally said. She
couldn't stand Jessie treating her like this.
"What, no"
"Well then, why are you
being like this?" Katie asked, while the bell rang
"Look I better get going,
I don't want to be late. I'll talk to you later ok" Jess said quickly,
totally ditching Katie
"Jessie wait." Katie
yelled. But it was too late, she was already gone.
She walked into class with her head down. How could Jessie do this to her? What
did she do. I mean I love her. Wait, that's it. I'll tell her how I feel.
Katie took out her notebook,
and started writing. Just writing. Whatever popped into her head was on that
piece of paper. She started telling all the things she kept inside. What she
was too afraid too even think before, but now she was writing it. All of it.
Every little detail.
"Could you do me a favor," Katie asked nervously. "Could you
give this note to Jessie when you see her. It's..extremely personal." She
left fast after Grace took it from her.
*Katie's Room*
~I can't believe i actually said all that stuff. What if she totally hates me
now. What if doesn't want to be friends again. What if... I think I'll call
her.
"Hello?"
"Hi. It's Katie. Can I
talk to Jessie."
"Sure hold on. Let me get
her"
"Um,
Katie she's going to bed right now. She'll call you tomorrow ok?" Katie
let out the breath she didn't even know she was holding. "Ok" she
said disappointed.
~She probably didn't even read it yet. Or Grace didn't give it to her. I hope
she didn't. God, I'm so nervous. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight.~
*Mr.. Dimitri's Class*
"Grace, wait," Katie said. "So, uh, what happened?"
Grace was shocked. Geez did
everyone know she had a crush on Mr.. Dimitri. "What do you mean, nothing
happened."
"You gave her the note
right" Grace just gave her a blank look "Oh, thank god you
didn't' give it to her."
"No, I did. I did give it
to her" Grace replied, looking nervously over at Mr.. Dimitri.
"Oh.....Oh God."
Katie breathed out.
"Yeah so...."
"But wait. I mean did she
say anything, cuz where is she..."
Mr.. Dimitri interrupted them.
Grace looked annoyed when he was talking to her. Finally he's gone.
Katie looked really
nervous. "Look Katie, the things is. Jessie was rally upset after
visiting her mom yesterday. Like really upset. I mean she may not even have
read it yet"
"Really" Katie asked
with hope in her voice. "You think that could be true?"
Grace didn't know what to say. "Uh,
It's definitely possible."
"Thank you. I love"
Katie gave her a hug, happily
*Jessie's Attic*
There was a knock at her door. "Come in" She turned expecting
to see Lily, but it wasn't. it was Katie "Oh, um, I though you were my
step mother"
"Well, I'm not. Your
brother let me in.
"Oh." Jessie replied.
She didn't know what else to say.
"Look, I just want my
sweater back and then I wont bother you again."
"Your not bothering
me."
"Fine, can I just have the
sweater?" Katie didn't want to play these games anymore.
"Um, sure, it's gotta be
around here somewhere." Jessie said while going off to look for the
sweater.
Katie just looked around, and
spotted the letter sitting right by the trash. "Oh, look. You missed the
trash." Katie said feeling tears coming to her eyes.
Jessie turned, understanding
what she meant. "I wasn't goin to throw it away"
"Fine, whatever. Can I
just have it back please" Katie said. She hated Jessie seeing her cry, but
she couldn't hold it in anymore.
"You want the letter
back?"
Katie took the letter from
Jessie's hand. "Look, I've humiliated myself enough as it is."
"How?"
"Because...I shouldn't
have written all that stuff"
"It's ok I just...."
"It's obviously not ok,
since you'll barely even talk to me" Katie said raising her voice.
"I just wanna be
friends" Jessie yelled out
"That's what I want"
"But from your letter it
just seems..."
"No, forget the stupid letter."
Jessie looked at her confused "I don't want anything you don't want"
"Well I just wanna be
friends"
"Me too'
"i've just been..."
"Really confused I know.
"And I didn't know what to
do. You're really important to me."
Katie looked down at her hands
shyly and then back at up at Jessie. "I am?"
"Yes, don't you know
that?"
"Because you are so
important to me." Katie said. She could tell something was going to
happen. Something big.
"So can we just be
friends. I mean am I still your friend" jessie asked crying.
"yes of course. Oh my
god." She grabbed Jessie into a hug. "Of course your still my
friend" Katie whispered. "So just throw the stupid letter out
ok?" She said closing her eyes.
Jessie opened her eyes and
moved her hand over Katie's back. "I can't" she whispered
Katie opened her eyes and
leaned back so she could look at jessie.
"O cant thrown it away. I
wanna keep it forever." she barely got out. Katie smiled. God,
jessie was so beautiful. She leaned in and kissed her. it was a
chaste kiss, but it meant so much.
"Oh my God" Jessie
breathed
Katie smiled. "What?"
she whispered
"I just um..."
Jessie was so cute when she was
scared and nervous
"I know" Katie
replied looking deeply into Jessie's eyes.
Then there were her lips again.
So tender so soft. She could just sit there forever staring into her eyes and
kissing her.
They broke apart and leaned
their foreheads together. Smiling at each other.
Katie knew her dream had come true.
