Sparkle

Ok, I had a most beautiful update, to my knowledge either Chapter 11 or 12, but oh no, my mom HAD to come in & ask to check her email & then my computer shut down, leaving me without my wonderfully crafted piece of artwork aka Chap 11 (or 12). Gurrr. So once & again, here's my take 2 on a long over due installment of Sparkle.
After quickly leaving a message at home that she'd be staying the night at Russell's, a cover system between the two incase of secret rendevous, Jessie was well on her way to hopefully finding Katie before she did something she couldn't take back. Did Jess think Katie was suicidal? No. But under extreme currcumstances, Jessie wasn't sure what her estranged ex-girlfriend was capable of doing, especially when under the most vulernable of situations. One phone call to On Star quickly turned to five, but after an hour of frantic breathing, as well as driving, Jess began to calm down, slightly. She was overcome with a feeling she'd known before, but had almost forgotten. It was almost as if she could feel Katie & put her "steel foot" to good use, truly letting her heart be her guide.
Meanwhile...
Katie slowly released the pen from her now tightened grasp, tears slowly falling down her once angelic face. She was overcome with emotion. Saddness, fear, overwhelming calm, & anger were just a few. She then folded up the letter & placed it in an envelope simply titled, "To whom it may concern." Feeling even more alienated then she had over the past six years, Katie's subconscious to make a desperate act.
With her bag by her side, without even really realizing it, pulled out the following items: a small tape recorder with a little label on it & a gardenia scented piece of paper. The letter was put aside on the couch behind her without any recollection, to give more room to focus on her final blow. She tediously placed the small recorder on the coffee table, angling it just so. Once fully satisfied with its setting, she began writing. The slow setting tears were now more abundant, leaving their aparent mark on the paper. When she completed the note, Katie led it over towards the recorder with a small label on it reading "Press Me." The note read as followed.
Billie,
Words cannot express how sorry I am about everything. I wish you no more pain & if I could take all the harsh things back, believe me I would. Please do not give up on life &/or on love, as I have. Thank you for making me feel loved, even if only for a short while, I will never forget it, or you. Even after everything, my heart will be forever yours my angel, more so than you’ll ever know.

Overstricken with pain, the next sequence of time was like a bad cup of coffee for Katie, a time as much as she tried to forget, just couldn't, a blur of everything she had ever felt...
She slowly stood up, taking one last glance at her surroundings, assumming they would be the last she'd ever see. With her subconscious incharge, Katie began walking towards one of the bedrooms. Once inside, she turned & honed in on the dresser. She then pulled out the old revolver & a single bullet. Wiping her tears away, Katie placed the bullet into the gun & gave it a spin. As her breathing increased, she calmly said, "Let's play."
Katie gave a long, deep breath & pulled back the lever. (sorry, i don't know the specific parts of a gun) The sound it made in the dead silence of the cabin, was enough to scare anyone. She then closed her eyes & brought the gun up to her right temple, finger held firmly on the trigger & held her breath.
