PART 2

The next morning Katie was at her locker a few minutes later than usual.

"Hey you! I was wondering when you would show up" Jessie came up behind her.

"Good morning! I was having a good dream when the alarm went off this morning and I didn't hear it right away so I had to rush around. I'm glad you're back and feeling better Jessie."

"Good morning to you too. I had some pretty good dreams last night also." Jessie reached up to brush a wisp of hair from Katie's face. "Did we really have that talk online last night? Am I really your girl?"

"Yes we really did and only if you're mine." Katie was elated that Jessie was willing to show any form of affection in public.

"Are we still hanging out after school?"

"I cannot think of any place I would rather be or anyone I would rather be with, Jessie."  {Be cool Singer, let her decide what to do when...don't take her hand..........don't take her hand, come on Katie, control....you can do it. Stop looking at her lips......}  Katie's eyes kept locking on Jessie's lips like they were canteens of water and Katie had been in the desert for weeks. Just then the warning bell for first hour rang.  {Saved by the bell}  Katie thought, knowing if she had had to stand there one more minute, she would have broken her word to let Jessie take the lead.

Jessie looked at Katie looking at her and all at once she knew she wanted the same thing Katie did.  "We'll talk about it after school ok, baby?"

"Omigod, you can read my mind now, Billie?"

"Of course I can, just like you can read mine, Katie.  We better get to class, I don't want a detention today."

"That would be horrible." The girls head in separate directions finding time to pass in the halls between each class. They had different lunches this month, so they didn't get a chance to really talk until after school. Katie took the books she needed to her last class, so she could go right to Jessie's locker as soon as the bell rang. She stopped and stared for a minute before walking over to Jessie.  {God she is so beautiful. I cannot believe she's my girlfriend. I wish I could hug her. At least we'll be at her house soon enough.} "Hey Billie."

Jessie is alone at her locker. She turns around and sees Katie and breaks into a huge smile. "Hey baby. I missed you."

"I missed you more. I thought 8th period would never end. Mr. Miller was droning on and on and on about the electoral college and blah blah and I m not sure what all he was saying, but it's not important now. He said something about a test tomorrow.....but I wasn't really listening, I had other things on my mind....I will have to look at the web page later to see what will be on the test."

"Katie, I don't want you to fail because of me."

"Jess, if I did fail, it wouldn't be because of you, when have I needed a reason to slack off? Don't worry, I promise I won't fail anything."

"Good, cause if you did.....I would have to punish you." Jessie realized that there had been sexual tension between the two for weeks now, she just hadn't exactly known what to call it until recently. "You ready to go to my mom's, or do you need to stop anywhere else?"

"I have everything I need right here, and if I don't, I don't care. It can stay here till tomorrow." The girls head to Katie's car, Katie doing everything she can not to grab Jessie's hand.

"Here you go, Billie," Katie unlocked and opened the door for her girlfriend, taking Jessie's backpack and throwing it in the backseat along with her own. She walked around to her side of the car where Jessie had the door unlocked for her. "Thank you gorgeous."

"You're welcome sexy," Jessie was blushing a little. "Um, Katie, can you hurry up please?"

"Why, Billie? Your mom only lives 5 minutes away."

"I know, but...." Jessie breaks off and blushes again. "Ummm....I just wanna get to mom's...that's all."

"Ah, any particular reason, Jess?"

"Um, well, yeah, I wanted to discuss the whole ....." Jessie breaks off and looks at her girlfriend who has a smirk on her face. "Brat."

"But I'm your brat and you love when I tease you."

"It's that obvious?"

"Um, duh, Billie."

"Are you sure you shouldn't be studying instead of hanging out with me? We don't have to hang out today if you can't, Katie."

"Baby, are you trying to get rid of me? We don't have to go to your mom's, we can go to the library or mall or something. I promise I will have plenty of time to study when I get home tonight. We don't have to be alone yet if you're worried."  {Besides I WILL be studying at your house, your eyes, your hair, your body.}

"No, I want to. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't keeping you from anything."

"No, never. Spending time with you is my first priority. If I have to, I can always study with you." They finally got to Karen's house. They got out of the car and Katie grabbed both backpacks. Jessie unlocked the door and they went into the kitchen. Katie set the bags on the floor while Jessie played the answering machine messages.

"You have one new message. First message left today at 2:25 pm. Hi Jessie, I'm going out with Henry for an early bite after dinner, so I probably wont be home until around 8 or 9. I ll be at work till 6, call me when you get in ok? Eli said something about band practice after work so maybe you can invite a friend over and order pizza or something? Talk to you later. Love you!"

"You wanna stay for dinner baby?"

"Hmm......let me think about it Billie,......my parents are working late tonight, so leftovers with my tv set and a Roseanne rerun or a pizza with my girl.........??? Naw, I think I'll go home."

"We really need to talk about this punishment as soon as I call my mom. Let me do that before it gets too much later. If you want, you can see what s for a snack while I talk." Jessie dials the phone. "Hi Mom........it was alright......no, not too much. Got an A on my english paper.............no, it should be fine........yeah, I got the message.......Katie gave me a ride home, I think we are just going to order a pizza and hang out until you get home................yeah she does too........no...........we will get it done............ok. Tell Henry I said hi............ok. Bye....love you too Mom." Jessie hung up the phone and looked at Katie. "Mom said you can stay till she gets home if you want....she said thanks for bringing me home."

"Well that's good news. Here. I found some Wheat Thins and Soda." They ate the snack quickly, their eyes locking on each other and then darting away.

"Ok....why don't we talk in the living room? It s cozier in there somehow I think." Katie agreed and the girls head into the other room and sit on the couch.
