PART 2

It had been eight days since jessie picked up her phone to call Katie, and it was eating her up inside. She had to restrain herself from picking up the phone, but her pride wouldn't let her. That had been Jessie's problem her whole life; pride. Normally this emotion was something that was powerful, you should feel good to have this, but in this case it can destroy everything; even the most important thing to you.

Jessie finally agreed to go out with Tad after he showed up at her doorstep begging for her to leave her house. As soon as they got into his car "My Immortal" came on to the radio, of course it was one of Katie's and her favorite songs. Everything seemed to be reminding her of Katie, and it was killing her. Tad suprised her by taking her to his favorite restraurent, the Indian food restraurent downtown, which ironically was Katie's favorite place to eat. Oh God your already slowly killing me by taking her away, and now all you can do is put constant reminders of her in my head.

After an akward and silent dinner Tad and Jessie headed over to a party. The scene was very chill, the smooth music let her escape, and thanks to a little alcohol helped ease her pain.

Jessie felt a shiver throughout her body, and felt a presence in the house. Across the room stood the one person she had been dying to see; Katie. Their eyes locked and a frown fell upon Katies face.

She ran through everyone and pulled Jessie off the couch, and pulled her into another secluded room. She fell to her knees, and grabbed Jessie's hips. Tears fell from her eyes, and anger came from her lips. Katie cursed at Jessie for not calling her, and told her how much she needed her. Jessie's jaw began to tighten and all her anger towards Katie faded, turning into regret. Jessie fell to the ground as well ,embracing Katie, and just holding her as they both cried.

Jessie felt awful for leaving her friend when she needed her, she felt selfish for letting her confusion of her feelings make her aviod her best friend, and most of all she felt relief; relief she didn't have to torture herself from hiding from Katie. She needed Katie, and Katie needed her.

Jessie left Tad and drove Katie home. The ride was silent except for the wind through the windows. Jessie held Katies hand, squezzing it every once and awhile just to let her know she would never leave her agian. Jessie's feelings for Katie didn't matter right now, all that mattered was her happiness; she was going to make her last two months special. That night Jessie just watched Katie sleep. She was in awe that someone so beautiful could be so deep, so special. She couldn't believe that she could meet someone that had so much in common with her, that could connect on so many different levels. She wanted to kiss her, but feared of what the outcome may be.

The next month was tough for Jessie, her and Tad broke up, and her mother was reconsidering marriage. Tad said he felt that she wasn't really "there" in the relationship, he knew that she didn't want it as much as he did. (was it that obvious?). Jessie wish she felt the way Tad felt for her, he was the sweetest guy she had ever met. She feared that she wouldn't meet another guy like him who could actually respect her like she wanted. She feared that she was falling in love with someone else; falling for a girl.

Katie and Jessie spent every moment they could together; they couldn't get enough of each other. It was crazy how Jessie never got sick of her; she got sick of everything. They stayed up till four in the morning just talking, they surfed together, watched movies, danced, tried their best at avioding the enevatible.

One night Jessie was dropping off Katie from a late night swim, and Katie's hug held on a little longer than usual. Jessie felt her whole body start to tingle, her heart started racing, and nervousness raced throughout her. Why is she holding on to me so long? Finally she let go after what felt like a lifetime and only a second at the same time. Katie looked into Jessie's eyes and kissed her cheek. SHe laughed and told Jessie her friend Stan told her that she and Jessie acted like a couple. He said it seemed like they were into each other, and Katie said she just laughed and hit him. Jessie laughed unsure of how she should react. I mean how is someone who isn't supposed to be attracted to their best friend act? Katie just smiled at her and got out of the car signaling that she would call her the next day. Jessie just drove off with butterflies in her stomach and Katies soft skin on her mind......
