Author's Note: I just realise that no one can tell when it's a thought
process. So now I have included some markers for that. (KT)=Katie-thought/s (JT)= Jessie's Thought/s. Pretty simple. Also (/T)
Thought end. BTW, if it all seems to scattered I am sorry. I take
painkillers so my head is usually not on properly. I'm sure you all

PART 3
Katie's House
Katie's house was cottage like, even though it didn't look like one.
It was warm and welcoming. Katie flung her jacket on a chair. She went
into the kitchen leaving Jessie to walk around the main room looking
at the photos and trophies that were on display
(JT)"Wow she's really…." (/T)
"Hey" Katie said surprising Jessie breaking her thoughts.
"Do you want something to eat or drink?"
"Yes please." Jessie replied, turning from the pictures to Katie and back again.
"Hot chocolate sound alright to you?" Katie asked as she headed back towards the kitchen.
"Yes, that's fine thank you."
Katie was standing in the kitchen with her head pressed against a
cupboard. She was trembling slightly from excitement.
(KT)"Singer, what are you going to do? What is she doing here? What
will Tad say if he finds out?" (/T)
The thoughts floated around in her head for a few minutes while the
chocolate was in the microwave. A couple of beeps later broke her out
of these thoughts, and remind her that she had company, and the
chocolate was ready. Katie made her way back into the main room trying
to be extra careful as she was nervous (and we all know what happens
to people when they are nervous and carrying hot liquids).
"So what do you think we should do? We have TV, music…." Katie started to blabber, but Jessie was only interested in digging into her brain.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah, sure, why not?"
"For the… For the past few weeks… It seems like you have been avoiding me. Why?"
"Oh, I… Um… I haven't. I've been really busy that's all with all these thoughts in my head."
Jessie was happy enough with Katie's explanation to move off the subject. "Can I see your room?" Jessie said, then felt a certain amount of shock flooded over her, enough to power the city of New York.
"What? Uh, you want to, what?" Katie couldn't quite grasp what was happening here. (KT)"Why does she want to see my room? Is this some sort of conspiracy that everyone has planned against me?" (/T) Katie was now feeling rather self-conscious. "I guess…. It's nothing much though."
"Cool, where is it?" (JT)"God, Jessie control your mouth. I told mom that someone had come and removed the filter that was between my brain and my mouth. I wonder how much it would be to just have my mouth sewed shut?" (/T)
"Umm, follow me." Katie stood up, determined to keep her balance and posture. She made her way down the hall with Jessie following close behind her. Katie reached for the handle and started to turn it slowly. With a click, the door opened. "Ohh, I forgot, it's a real war zone in there at the moment." Katie insisted as she pulled the door back to close it.
"I don't mind, you should see my room." Jessie replied giggling to herself as she pushed the door open with little force.
(KT)"Wow, even her giggle is adorable. Is there anything at all wrongwith girl? Does she have any flaws at all? She's most probably a mental case…"(/T)
Jessie made her way passed Katie who seemed to be like a bouncer or body guard standing next to the door. Jessie made her way around the room, looking at the rooms contents, looking at Katie. "It's usually cleaner than this. I've been really…"
"Katie?" Jessie said cutting her off mid blabber.
"Yeah?"
"I was wondering do you write about Tad?" Jessie asked shying away from Katie, she knew that it was a stupid question. "No, don't answer that!"
"No. No, they are not about Tad. Thank god, there not about Tad." Katie repeated like it was a blessing of some sort.
"Oh, I just thought…" Jessie didn't know what to say. She had been so rude, she didn't really want to ask that, but she couldn't think of anything else to say.
"That's fine. Tad and I are just friends. That's all we'll ever be. So you don't have to worry about that." Katie said feeling an urge to explain her relationship with Tad.
(JT)"What inspires you to write the way you do?" (/T)
"What inspires you to write the way you do?"
"Or should I ask who?" "FILTER!"
Without even realising Jessie slapped herself on the forehead.
"I am so sorry, I have no control over my mouth tonight. I think I may
have consumed something that has cause this horrifying reaction."
Katie sensed that Jessie was starting to feel awkward. " Ahhh, don't worry about it. It's fine, really." "Inspire, well, there are many people in my everyday life that inspire me. It just depends on what chord they hit that day, you know?" Katie was being very careful with the words she chose to share out aloud.
"Yeah, I guess. Okay, no I don't" Jessie replied quickly retracting her previous statement.
" Well… Sometimes when reality seems too much for my mind, I tend to drift off. That's where the pen comes in handy."
"Like daydream? I daydream all the time…" Jessie stared off into space.
"Yeah. It just became 2nd nature to me."
"Katie I'm sorry about before. I didn't mean to be nosey. I was curious is all." Jessie was unsure that Katie would believe her. She had to reconfirm that fact.
"I understand, if I found it I am sure I would have done the same."
"So who is it that you write about? They must be really special."
Katie giggled "Well they're special to me."
"Who is it?"
"I can't tell you that. Then you will try to bribe me." Katie gave Jessie a wide-eyed look.
"Don't make me beat it out of you!" With that Jessie slapped Katie on the arm, a little harder than she had wanted to. Jessie instantly feeling bad reached back over to Katie who was in shock.
"Did you just slap me?"
"I'm so sorry… I don't know what I was thinking."
"It seems that you don't know your own strength." Katie said trying to reassure Jessie it was nothing to fuss over. Jessie, who at this point was embarrassed at all of her actions, words that had been made tonight got up and began to move around the room, poking a little at it's content. Jessie went over to the desk that sat in a corner near the window. She moved a few things around revealing a large writing book. Jessie stared over at Katie curiously.
"Can I read it?" Jessie already knew of the words it held. Katie flung her hands up in defeat.
Jessie opened the book about ¼ through and began to read out aloud.
Katie shied away feeling her heart raise itself up to her throat.
"All the words you don't say are tearing me apart
Now I find I have fallen in this place
Where silence surrounds me
and what seems to kill me"
Jessie continued to read as she made her way towards Katie, who was
now in defeat and had taken rest on the edge of her bed. Besides,
standing around wasn't her style.
"Is a craving, solitary heart,
That is mine.
I can only see your face
But where are your eyes?
Where is your heart?
Not in this place where I have fallen
Not with me"
Jessie sat down next to Katie, she leaned over and touched Katie's arm
gently, the air became heavy and filled with curiosity. Jessie slowly
shifted her fingers lightly up towards her shoulder. Katie felt warmth
flood over her body and mind. Katie was entranced by Jessie's eyes,
which looked at her so tenderly. Jessie continued, cupping her hand
around Katie's neck. Katie couldn't repress this feeling any longer,
as she leant in she could feel Jessie's hot breath on her lips. She
opened her mouth slightly… Then the phone rang. Katie jumped up and
Jessie jerked backward, both girls where in a daze. Katie looked down
at Jessie
"I've gotta get that." Jessie nodded, still too stunned to say anything.
Katie rushed to the phone making sure she bumped into everything along
the way.
"Hello." Katie said trying to catch her breath…
"Hi, Katie, it's Tad"
"Oh, hi Tad." Jessie appeared from Katie's bedroom.
"Do you know where Jessie is by any chance?"
"Uh, Jessie" Katie looked at Jessie trying to read her mind. (KT)"Tell him you're here, or not?" (/T)
Jessie frowned and shrugged at the same time. (JT)"I wish he didn't ring. What am I saying? What happened in there?
Do I like Katie? Does Katie like me? I think I should leave. I'm leaving." (/T)
Jessie was now caught up in these thoughts and feelings. In a matter of 5 seconds she became overwhelmed. Jessie headed for the door, turned around to signal Katie that she was leaving.
"Katie, are you there?" Tad said as Katie was trying to stop Jessie with her knowledge of fish talk and real crappy sign language. Jessie laughed silently as she gave Katie final wave as she closed the door.
"Yeah, sorry. Uh, Jessie just left about 5 minutes ago." Katie uttered, slightly annoyed at Tad's interruption.
"Oh. What was he doing there?"
"She found the party to be boring so I asked her if she wanted to watch a movie or something."
"Oh, ok…." Tad sounded slightly confused and couldn't hide it.
But before Tad could go on Katie cut him off "Tad the, the popcorns done, so I have to go, I'll talk to you tomorrow, ok?" Katie jumped to the first thing she could think of not too sure of the excuse she should use.
"Fine, tomorrow then."
"Bye." With that Katie hung up.
(KT)"What happened there? Does Jessie know I like her? Does Jessie like me? Is she playing with me? What about Tad? He's gonna hate me for this! Should I follow her? No, it would seem to… Yes, for her own safety." (/T)
Katie ran out of the house grabbing her jacket and carrying these thoughts that were playing with her head. It didn't take long for Katie to catch up to an unsuspecting Jessie who herself seemed deep in thought.
Outside
Katie decided to linger behind Jessie. She didn't want to disturb her,
after all Katie herself didn't know what just happened and wasn't too
sure if she was ready for Jessie's thoughts on the situation. Katie
was just happy to follow Jessie. She was watching her every step,
ready to run to her with a first aid kit if she should fall. Katie
suddenly scrambled and dived into the nearest hedge as a car pulled up
next to Jessie.
(KT)"Son of a bitch that hurt. Is that… Tad… Oh great. I hope they don't take all night. Just jump in the car Jessie, or drive off Tad. These bushes are making me itchy… Is something biting me? I hope there are no spiders in here. I can't seem to hear them." (/T)
Thoughts twirled around in Katie's head as she tried to make out what they were talking about. It was all mumbling at first until Katie could finally make out some words.
"No, it's alright Tad I'll just walk."
"Come on babe, just hop in the car, I'm not going to bite you."
"Tad just go back to the party, I'll be fine."
Tad was trying to give her a sulky look but it failed desperately.
Jessie sighed with frustration.
"Tad, Dad's house is only 5 minutes away. It's fine, just go." Jessie said sounding very aggravated.
"Ok, fine. But don't forget I did ask you." Tad said sounding disappointed at her decision.
"I'll call you tomorrow, ok?"
"Tomorrow, yeah, I'll talk to you then."
With that Tad started the car and proceeded to drive off.
Jessie continued to walk down the path as she got closer to the corner, she felt that someone was watching her, with her. It wasn't that she was scared, she felt quite safe knowing that someone, or something maybe there. Deep down she wished for it to be Katie, but more never than often, are these feelings true. Katie slowly and carefully removed herself from the hedges that she had bonded with over the past 5 or 10 minutes. Pulling the sticks and leaves from her clothes as she continued to follow Jessie. Jessie had turn left and headed down the street where her father lived, but the feeling that someone was there was getting stronger within her stomach. (JT)"I'll wait behind this tree, if there is nothing, no one, then it's nothing and I'm just paranoid…" (/T)
Jessie continued to wait behind a large tree within it's shadow.
Katie
was walking slowly, slightly confused that she could no longer see
Jessie.
(KT)"Did she just disappear? Maybe I passed her house already and she
is already home? Wait is that her… NO it's a cat. Wow, I have good
judgement the height just seems so uncanny…" (/T)
Katie was nearing the tree that Jessie was leaning against. Katie
walked on past the tree not even realising Jessie there.
(JT)"Oh my god, Katie? What is she doing here? Is she following me?
Why is she following me? Maybe she is a murderer? No she can't be…"(/T)
"Katie" Jessie whispered.
"Katie" Jessie whispered louder this time.
(JT)"Is she deaf?" (/T)
(KT) "Oh my god, I've been busted. What do I say? What can I say?
Sorry but I didn't have anything better to do tonight, so I had you
picked out from 20 people to stalk. Hope you don't mind. Have a nice
night. No, I'll just keep walking... I can't that would just seem to
obvious." (/T)
"There you are!" Katie said surprised to see Jessie as she spun around
to face Jessie.
"Are you following me?"
"I was worried when you left, you know it's not safe to walk alone at night?" Katie was not making any eye contact with Jessie. (KT)"If I look at her, her eyes might burn right through me… My hands are so sweaty… Ewe… Icky" (/T)
Katie began to rub her hands on her legs.
Jessie looked at her watch "I need to get home, it's late" "Sorry, if I left suddenly, but I needed to get home." Jessie repeated herself making sure that Katie heard her reason trying to make the other doubt otherwise.
"Not a problem. I'll just walk with you."
"It's okay you can go. I'm nearly there."
(JT)"She is so sweet. I knew she couldn't be a murderer." (/T)
"Are you sure? Because I can…"
Jessie cut her off "Alright, you can be my entertainment on the way then." Jessie said as if it was the hardest decision to make. The looked at each other for a moment, maybe one second too long. Then Katie gave Jessie a frolicsome shove to coax her into walking.
