Disclaimer:
Most of these characters aren't mine and I'm just borrowing
them for a while, so they can do those things all the others don't let them do.
Summary: Challenge Response. "Jessie & Katie", a tragic love story
(following Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet"), so definitely an AU Fic. *lol*
Author's Note: I can't express how much I enjoy reading your feedback,
it's really a motivation to go on writing! *g* I hope you although enjoy the
second part. :-) By the way: I don't know whether I'll write a happy ending or
not... to be honest, I love to write happy endings, but a little drama won't
hurt... I'll think about it. What would "Romeo & Juliet" be without this great
mixture of love and pain? This part is a bit short… sorry!
PART 2
The Sammler mansion lay in the dark, the walls still lit by thousands of light.
Pale Moonlight was shining through the leaves of the trees surrounding the
swimming pool.
Katie felt her emotions burst in every fibre of her body, she was tense in every
muscle, but there was this overwhelming feeling that drove her mind to unknown
heights. Sweet, pure love... adorable, innocent beauty. She wanted to feel these
arms again, these lips... the heat of their skins. It was driving her mad...
mad... mad. Her thoughts were screaming.
She couldn't see any guards. After a while watching the high walls around the
estate she noticed small cameras and barbed wire on top of the walls... nothing,
nothing would never stop her.
Easily she climbed the walls, carried by the wings of heavenly love and hope for
more of these gentle intoxicating kisses.
She heard the cameras move. Nothing, nothing would stop her. Her heard was
ripped apart by desire. The air around the Sammler manor was still thick with
the scents of a party... alcohol... sweat... fire... the heat of the day still
hasn't left even though the night had already fallen. Katie felt the warm breeze
coming from the see tingling on her skin.
Looking around she became aware of a shadow moving behind the light curtains of
the big windows.
Jessie was restless. Murmuring to herself she was wandering around in her
room... complaining... sighing... close to crying... Why had life to be so
cruel? It gave her love, endless, tender love and stole it away the same second.
A foe. No friend, no devoted heart, but an enemy had stolen her heart. But it
had been stolen with gentle hands, with a smile on loving lips.
"Oh, how I long to feel those lips again," she cried out, hardly silently,
"those sweet enemy's lips. Why her? Why her? Goddness, I need air... air to fill
my lungs... the thought of never again tasting her soft skin suffocates me."
Jessie stepped out of the house into the park. Bare-footed she walked on the
sun-warmed slabs towards the swimming pool.
Katie's heart failed its function and stopped beating, when she saw Jessie's
slender figure step out of the mansion. All her dreams had come alive.
"Why her? Why a Singer?" Jessie stopped walking and looked to the sky, where
bright stars were shimmering in the dark.
Katie took a deep breath, she hid behind a tree, so Jessie couldn't see her.
"I hear an angel speak." She whispered to herself.
"But it is just a name... isn't she still who I love without her name? Names are
nothing more than thin air... words... fragile words... worth nothing. Katherine
Singer, disown your name... please, forswear your origin. So will I, because my
love should be worth more than the hate based on the weakness of speech."
Katie couldn't resist. She was declaring her love... this gorgeous angel was
declaring its love to her. Shivering and shaking she stepped out of her
hiding-place, she touched Jessie's shoulder uncertainly, eventually thrilled by
the feeling of Jessie's warm skin under her fingertips.
"I will. I forswear my name! I'll never be Katherine Singer again. Call me "my
love", and you'll christen me new."
Jessie stopped dead, her whole body stiffened, when she realized who was
touching her. The joy of the revelation overcame her and she lost balance.
Both of them fell into the swimming pool. They suddenly lost all of their
composure and fell into each others arms, not caring about the missing air
underwater. Their lips met in a sudden whirl of emotions. They dove out of the
water and gasped for air, just to start kissing again.
Katie held Jessie close, caressing her cheeks, looking deep into those bright
blue eyes.
"My love... my love, why did you come here? How did you come here? The walls are
high and the whole mansion is guarded."
Katie smiled.
"Wings of love carried me over those walls and no guard could have stopped me.
What love wants, it'll dare."
They kissed again and the unexpected thrill of their meeting lips, let them fall
back into the water again.
"They'll kill you, when they find you." Jessie worried, when they gasped for
air again.
"The night hides me in its dark veil. But they shall find and kill me, if you
don't love me. It's better to die from a masterly shot of a guard's gun, than
die slowly and full of pain because of unreturned love."
Once more a tender kiss stunned all worries and doubts.
"No more sweet, hazy promises. Tell me: Do you love me?" Jessie demanded.
Katie's face beamed. Her heart was filled with unknown happiness.
"Yes, yes of couse. I love you."
She tried to pull Jessie into a kiss again, but Jessie moved away. She slowly
stepped out of the pool, leaving a wet trail on the slabs.
Katie stood still, completely bewildered, she watched her love leave.
"You'll leave me here? So unfulfilled?"
Jessie turned around and smiled at Katie.
"How much fulfilment do you need tonight?"
"Just your vow that you love me in exchange for mine."
That was the moment, when Jessie hurried back to Katie, who has just stepped out
of the pool, too. Jessie hugged her powerfully, but with such enchanting
tenderness, that Katie almost lost consciousness.
"I've already given it. But I'll give it again and again, if you want me to. I
love you... endlessly... but you have to leave. Leave this house! Please! We'll
see each other! We'll see each other! I promise."
"When? When do we see each other?"
Jessie tried to leave and rush back into the house, but Katie was holding her
hand. Her eyes pleading for a last kiss goodbye.
"Tomorrow... at the beach... when dawn hasn't begun yet. When the sand is still
wet from mornings dew."
A smile spread across Katie's face.
"Then goodbye... goodbye... I can't wait until it is morning."
Now Jessie pulled her into a kiss, deep and sweet.
"Me, too... parting is such sweet sorrow."
They kissed for a last time.
The night seemed long, longer than any night before. They lay both wide awake
staring at the ceiling and thinking of each other. Love and longing was driving
them crazy.
Then morning came.
