Summary: AU Fic and sequel to "Feel Good Lies" (But you'll understand it
without having read "Feel Good Lies"!). Jessie and Katie spent Thanksgiving with
Jessie's family. Everything is still new, so they don't want anyone to know
about their relationship. But they show a lack of skill, like all newly in love
couples.
Author's Note:
Sorry, for the delay! My life was a little bit upside down the last few
months... so I wasn't in the mood to write. I hope you nevertheless enjoy the
2nd part of this sequel . :-)
PART
2
When Rick came into the kitchen the next morning, he found Lily sitting at table
thinking about something.
"Morning Lil. What's wrong?"
He asked as he said down next to her. She smiled at him.
"Oh, nothing... really. I'm just thinking about something I noticed a while
ago."
Rick took a sip from his coffee.
"And that's what?"
"Well, I'm not sure... because maybe I just misunderstand it... I was in the
attic to tell Jessie that they can have breakfast if they want to... they
weren't there... and I saw... I saw that... It seems Katie hasn't used the sofa.
And... I was just wondering were she has slept."
Rick smiled at Lily.
"Ahm... I understand what you just said, but I don't understand where the
problem is. Maybe she's as neat and tidy as you are and you can't distinguish
between the bed you made and the bed she made," he shrugged his shoulders, "and
by the way, Lil... it doesn't matter where she sleeps as long as she doesn't try
to seduce Eli."
He grinned, but Lily shook her head.
"Well, maybe it's not Eli..."
"Not Eli? Who then? Me?"
Rick laughed.
"I don't know. I just got this weird foreboding, that there's something going on
which we haven't noticed before."
"Ahh, Lily, forget about it! How about the whole family going for a walk this
afternoon?"
Now Lily had to laugh.
"What sort of idea is that?"
"A good one?"
Lily nodded.
"Ok, let's ask the kids!"
Not everyone was keen on going for a walk. Zoe couldn't believe that Rick even
dared to suggest it, there were the hell of a lot more things that would be more
fun than going for a walk. But after Rick promised he'll never make a fool of
one of her boyfriends again, if she accompanies them, Zoe agreed.
They walked through the streets. Rick and Lily were discussing something with
Eli and Grace, while Zoe silently followed them, still looking extremely
annoyed. A few paces behind them Jessie and Katie tried hard not to do what they
had got used to since this one special day... They tried hard not to hold hands
while walking.
Jessie grinned.
"Katie, stop it!"
"What?!" Katie's attempts to look as innocent as possible failed.
"You know what! I can feel you fingers on mine... stop trying to take my hand."
"Why don't you stop trying to take mine?" Katie smiled at Jessie, whose face
turned red immediately.
"I'm not trying to take your hand!"
"Yes, you do." Katie stated widely grinning. Then she suddenly grabbed Jessie's
hand and let go of it the same second, her fingers touching Jessies longer than
necessary, running a few paces towards Zoe.
Jessie stopped dead for a second and forgot to breath. The sensation of Katies
soft skin on her fingertips made her heart skip more beats than medically
possible. These were the most difficult three days in her entire life, she
couldn't believe that she got herself into this. She must have been out of her
mind, completely... insane. How could she have agreed to three days (nights not
included) without Katies... kisses, touches... looks... sweet ambiguous jokes...
Jessie sighed. The more time passed, the more she wanted to be close to Katie...
really close... She smiled to herself. Tonight was going to be... payback time,
honey!
"Hey Zoe... are you really as bored as your face tells me?" Katie walked next
to Zoe.
Zoe nodded. "Yes, definitely. Don't tell me you think this is fun?"
"Well... I'm... not fun but... Isn't it nice to be with the ones you love?"
Damn! I shouldn't have said this! I know this family for two days... Zoe is a
frustrated, bored teenager, but she is clever enough to know... that... Aw,
forget about it! It's to late.
"You love... my family? That's weird... We know for two days..."
Katie shrugged her shoulders. There was no answer to this question. Just the
slight idea that she might have said too much.
"Somehow. I think I like them." She tried to justify her outburst of emotions.
Zoe looked at Katie and shook her head. Then she mumbled something that sounded
dangerously like:
"Yeah right... you like my family... you LIKE Jessie..."
To Katie it seemed the best to ignore Zoes words. I said enough... Damn,
Singer... you possibly screwed it all. Jessie doesn't want her family to know.
Accept it!
Jessie didn't care about her parents trying to talk to her, about Eli trying to
mock at her and about everything else that was surrounding during this idyllic
walk.
What she was thinking about? She was watching her girlfriend... and planning a
revenge she would never forget. A revenge for teasing her... for making it even
harder to survive these three days.
Rick was still talking about how great their day had been, when Lilly closed the
door of their bedroom behind them. One could still hear Zoe grumble about her
nerve-racking family, her terrible brother and her sisters and how her parents
forced her to spent a day walking through a park. But after a while all sounds
in the house got quiet...
Katie closed the door to the attic and went upstairs.
She saw Jessie sitting on her bed, waiting for her. She was smiling broadly...
somehow evilly.
"What's up?"
"Nothing!"
Katie hesitated. That didn't look and that didn't sound like a nothing.
Definitely not!
"Ehmm... you... I..." She stuttered, suddenly suspecting what this was all
about. Wow... I'm a lucky girl! Really, there's an absolutely gorgeous girl
sitting on a bed... only dressed in... ok... definitely waiting for me... and?!
And?! I'm not allowed to touch her... What sortof stupid joke is that?
"Yes, you... and me. Great idea!" Jessie whispered.
Everyone seemed to be asleep... silence was creeping through the house. But
then low voices began to whisper... one begging... one laughing... sheets
rustling...
"Stop it! You... You... can't do this! Oh, my god! Stop it..."
"I can do a lot more..."
"No, you... oh... wow... it's... they can hear us... they... oh, stop it..."
