Summary: AU Fic. At the moment I have no idea what will happen… Katie and
Jessie haven't met yet, they're both studying somewhere (I don't know yet and it
probably won't matter!) and… well, just read… you'll see!
Author's Note: This isn't my first fic, but all the others are
written in German. In some way this is my first fic… my first English fic and my
first fic about J/K. I'm really sorry, if it's impossible to read, because my
English is far a away from being fluent. Is someone out there who wants to help
me? A beta-reader would be great (I need some help with grammar, words and …
well, some facts about colleges/ college life, because I suppose that's a bit
different here…). I won't continue writing, if you tell me this story is
rubbish. But I definitely will continue writing, if someone likes it.
PART 8
Matt and Katie went to a small club downtown. It was already very crowded, when
they arrived, but they found a small place to stand near the bar. While Matte
ordered two cocktails, Katie started to feel uneasy.
"Matt, everyone is starring at me."
Matt smiled. Katie never used to feel uncomfortable, she liked to get attention,
especially when they went out. This Jessie girl was really driving Katie crazy,
otherwise he couldn't explain Katie's behaviour.
"Sweety, they're starring at you, because you're breathtaking."
She was eye catching indeed. He wasn't sure if this was her real dress up -
outfit... but it was one hell of an outfit. She wore some tight blue jeans and
this beige top that was decorated with some leather which he gave her on her
last birthday. Tanned skin, long blond hair... if he wasn't gay...
"Katie... I know I brought you here to forget about it, but one last question,
ok?"
She nodded.
"How do you know... that Jessie doesn't want to... doesn't want you? I mean, she
didn't call, ok. But it was only yesterday. Maybe she was busy?"
They got their cocktails.
"Matt, if you fell in love with a guy one night, wouldn't you call him the next
morning?"
"Yes, I would, but that's something different. I know, I'm gay. But Jessie
probably never thought about it... so maybe she's just scared and doesn't dare
to do something about it."
Katie shook her head.
"It was you who told me to forget about her in the first place! You said she'll
break my heart, because she's straight."
"That was before I saw you two together.
**********
Ben suggested to go to a small club downtown.
Jessie tried to smile most of the time. She was a lucky girl. She was dating a
really, really handsome guy tonight. He was handsome, wasn't he? They'll have a
drink or two, they'll dance... and tomorrow morning, she's going to tell Grace
about her new boyfriend.
They ordered and took seat near the dancefloor.
"Ahm, I wanted to ask you something, Jessie... I almost didn't dare to ask you
out in the first place."
"Why?"
"Because... Haven't you heard the rumours?"
"I don't really care about rumours." She smiled faintly.
Until now she exactly knew what the rumours were about. They were about her and
Katie. And they weren't exactly close to what it was really about.
"They say... I'm sorry. I don't want to offend you. They say... you're… well,
you're more into girls than into boys."
"No I'm not," Jessie answered quickly, "I should know if I was gay, shouldn't
I?"
"I wasn't talking about being gay... I mean, there's nothing wrong about being
bisexual."
"I'm not bisexual... can we please change the subject?"
I'm gay! Jessie's thoughts stopped dead... no, I'm not gay. Oh god, this chaos
is going to kill me sooner or later.
This guy was starting to annoy her. Jessie glanced across the room. It was very
crowded, at the bar was no free place left. Wow, what's that? Jessie smiled. She
loved girls in tight blue jeans... Has she really just thought that? She closed
her eyes for a brief second, then she opened them up again... there was nothing
to deny about it. She smiled to herself. She definitely loved girls in tight
blue jeans, if truth be told she could sit here the whole evening and stare at
this girl grinning foolishly. And it didn't even felt wrong. She shook her head.
Chaos! Pure chaos.
"What's up?" Ben tried to get Jessie's attention back.
"Oh, nothing... really!"
Ben smiled and turned around to look in the same direction as Jessie. He spotted
a really good looking blond girl at the bar, then he turned back to Jessie and
grinned.
"Great ass."
Jessie was glad, that it was to dark to see that her face turned red.
"I... I…" She couldn't get a complete sentence out of her mouth.
"It's ok, Jessie. Everyone would notice that... I suppose."
"Please... let's not talk about it, ok? How about... dancing?"
She tried hard to smile.

After a while Matt and Katie started to have fun, they chatted about their
neighbours, who were always arguing so loud that Matt and Katie couldn't even
watch TV, they made fun of some guys who made a homophobic remark, when they
heard Matt call out: "Oh, I'm such a sissy!" and from time to time they danced.
Katie even tried to check out some girls, without any success, but she tried...
She didn't forget about last night, but she tried hard not to think about it too
much. At the moment she couldn't do anything about it. It was what it was, some
great misunderstanding. And after all it was just a kiss... and love is more
than just a kiss.
"Okay, sissy. Tell me something! What's up with you and this Kenneth? There's
something going on, isn't it?"
Matt smiled and shook his head.
"No, no. There's nothing."
"And then why is he calling all the time?"
"I don't know, he probably likes his mobile phone..."
They grinned at each other.
"You're such a beast, Matt... You can't..."
Katie forgot her lines. Someone touched her hips... someone's hands were pushing
her slightly aside. Oh goodness, who's that? She didn't dare to turn around.
Damn, frustrated again, Singer! So just enjoy... just enjoy it... A girl,
definitely a girl. These are a girl's hips touching hers... Breathe! Definitely
a girl's... touching you… wow! Okay, last cocktail for tonight, I'm going crazy.
There was tension building up, electricity... Then it was over suddenly. Katie
looked it Matt's grinning face.
"Who was it?" She asked.
Matt continued grinning.
"Oh, no one special. Liked it?"
"Ahm... yes. So obvious?"
"Oh, I almost expected you to start moaning."
He tried to suppress an even wider grin.
"Sissy!"
"Slut!"
They laughed together.

Ben and Jessie left the dancefloor and headed towards the bar to order new drinks.
Jessie pushed and shoved through the crowed. When she suddenly recognized, something... there was this girl, this girl wearing tight blue jeans... she had to go past her... She smiled to her. If Ben had this ass, she would definitely take him home tonight... Oh, Jessie! What's wrong? Don't you have any control about your thoughts?
Great... great… oh, god! She feels great, she smells great. I'm speechless. Just
a second... only one second more. Her hips feel like... like Katie's. Wait! Wait! Jess, stop it! Isn't that Matt, standing over there! Grinning at her! Oh,
my god!
She quickly hurried away, Ben following her.
"Ben, I'm really sorry. I'm not feeling well. Can we leave, please?"
He tried to smile.
"So, time has come. You're dumping me, aren't you?"
Jessie shook her head. She hadn't even thought about that, she hadn't even
thought about this night as a date.
"No, no... I don't think so... not really. I..."
"Wasn't that Katie over there?"
"Yes, it was..."
"I understand," he grinned, "I definitely can't compete with this ass."
Jessie shrugged her shoulders.
**********
It was 3 o' clock in the morning when Katie decided to skip all her courses of the next day. She couldn't think straight anyway, it wouldn't make any sense, she wouldn't be able to listen. She laid on the sofa, trying desperately not to think.
Matt sat on the floor. One could tell from only looking at him, that he was
thinking.
"Kat, baby."
"Yes, what's up!"
"I've got a guilty conscience."
Katie sat up.
"Why?"
"Do you remember... a while ago in the club, when this girl touched you?"
"Yes, how could I forget? I'll probably dream about it." She smiled faintly.
"Well... it was Jessie."
"What?"
"Yes, she was there with some guy... She watched you the whole night."
Katie's jaw dropped open, she didn't know what to reply.
"I'm sorry, I didn't tell you."
That was it. End of the road. She couldn't stand that anymore. One more day like
this and she'll volunteer for the lunatics asylum. She needed Jessie, she needed
talking to her... holding her... being with her. She needed to stop this.
Yesterday Jessie was kissing her, today she was already dating a guy again. That
was too much to stand.
"I'll call her. I'll put an end to this."
Katie stood up and went to the phone.
"Katie, it's 3 o' clock in the morning. You can't call her now."
"I can. I have to."
**********
Jessie was already asleep, when the door to her room opened.
"Jess, wake up!"
Jessie turned around. This must be a nightmare, she isn't hearing Grace' voice.
"Jess, wake up! Katie called."
"No."
Grace sighed.
"Yes, she called. She is going to come over tomorrow."
"No." Jessie murmured half asleep.
"Yes, she's coming and you'll be there, even if I have to lock all doors and
windows. Did you hear me?"
"No."
"Good night, sis."
